Editorial Guidelines
Last updated July 20, 2026. This page explains how we separate sponsored content from independent editorial coverage, and the standards our editorial team holds itself to. For the full picture of ownership and how we're compensated, see our Advertising Disclosure.
How sponsored content is labeled
Sponsored articles and partner pages say "Sponsored" and "In Partnership With [Brand]" directly under the headline, before any body text. This label appears first, every time, with no exceptions. If a page on this site doesn't carry that label at the top, it's independent editorial content.
How independent editorial content is produced
Our how-to guides and buying guides are written by the Oxford & Loom editorial team based on their own research and judgment. These articles are not paid for by any brand, and no brand reviews or approves the conclusions before publication. When an editorial article links to a product or brand, that link reflects the editorial team's genuine assessment of what's worth recommending, not a payment arrangement with that brand.
Every editorial article carries a short disclosure line at the top of the body, before the intro paragraph, noting that Oxford & Loom may earn a commission or have a financial relationship with brands featured on the site, including brands under common ownership. That line links to our Advertising Disclosure, where the full ownership and compensation details are laid out plainly.
No fake testimonials or reviews
Oxford & Loom does not fabricate quotes, reviews, or endorsements attributed to real or fictional customers. Any testimonial or review that appears on this site, on an editorial page or a sponsored one, is real and attributable, or it doesn't run. We don't invent customer stories to make a product sound better than our own assessment supports.
Keeping the two separate
Sponsored pages are built and labeled differently from editorial pages so a reader can tell which is which at a glance: the "Sponsored" label sits at the top of the page, before any content, on every partner page. Editorial pages never carry that label because they aren't paid placements. This separation exists so a reader can weigh a page's content appropriately without having to guess how it came to be published.
